Acne Scar Treatment In Cheaper Ways

When acne scar treatment does matter..

Adolescence can bring about a lot of changes in the body, inside-out. One very visible change that may happen is the appearance of pimples on the face of a person. These are some of the annoying things that can be brought about by growing up. Even if you might be happy to be finally rid of being called a ‘kid’ by almost anyone you talk to, you just have to keep up with this undesired addition to your face.

Pimples will likely manifest on your face especially if you have them genetically inherited from your parents. Pimples will also grow if your face is always oily and your skin pores are always exposed to the small but dangerous little particles of dust and other tiny foreign matter. They would fill up your skin pores and would irritate your skin, causing pimples to sprout all over.

However, you should be cautious in handling these pimples. If you would forcefully get them out of your face, you would eventually earn scars instead- scars which are even more annoying and distracting to look at.

But like most medical concerns, there is a cure- an acne scar treatment, which helps you eliminate scars brought about by pimples and other similar skin problems. In addition to that, the steps for your desired acne scar treatment to a more beautiful and scar-free skin are very easy to follow. You also do not have to go to a rather expensive dermatology clinic in order to have the skin that you want.

Cheapest Acne Scar Treatments

acne scar treatmentFirst, you can apply pure olive oil. This can be easily bought from a local grocery store near you. This is also quite affordable and you can even use this not only for your skin but also for your cooking; you just have to choose the purest olive oil there is. You can start your acne scar treatment by directly applying the oil to the scarred parts of your face. You can develop a routine doing this 2-3 times a day.

Second, you can go natural with your acne scar treatment. You can use and squeeze out the fruity and sour juice from lemons. Aside from the Vitamin C which you can get from lemons to strengthen your immune system, you can use this to lighten up your skin too. Since the color which the scars create darkens your skin, lemon juice can serve you well. As a variation, you may also mix it with fresh milk as an added moisturizer, since putting on Vitamin C on the skin for longer periods can cause dryness. One good thing about Vitamin C is that it is very affordable. You do not have to go buying those expensive soaps and creams which can reportedly erase your scars.

Last, you can use the healthy goodness of Vitamin E for your acne scar treatment. Just like everything else mentioned here, these are easily accessible. All you can do is purchase Vitamin E supplements at the local drugstore and utilize its oils. You would not need to worry about unwanted side effects, unlike when you use medications that will still need prescription from your doctor. Just let the oil from these capsules trickle down your face, and the application should be done twice daily.

Sensitive skin means skin which reacts quickly and easily to cold and heat as well as to chemicals. It is a delicate skin which is prone to allergic reactions.

The skin of almost everybody will be sensitive to a certain degree. The sensitivity may range from mild to extreme. People with extreme skin sensitivity need to take proper care in order to avoid any problems.

There can be various causes for sensitive facial skin. But the most common cause is hereditary. Some people are born with extra sensitive facial skin. Their skin becomes allergic to almost anything and everything.

Choosing Sensitive Facial Skin Products

sensitive facial skinWhen you have sensitive facial skin you have to carefully select your facial skin care products. You cannot use just any product available in the market. You need to read the labels properly and select only those products which are specifically designed for sensitive skin.

Also try to stay away from products which contain alcohol as it can cause skin irritation. There are many sensitive skin facial products available in the market so you should not have much problem in selecting a suitable one for yourself.

People with sensitive facial skin can be on the safe side by selecting products with natural ingredients like aloe, honey etc. However even such products may not be safe at all times. Some people may be affected with rashes even when using products with natural ingredients.

A simple way to test whether any product might cause skin reaction to you is to dab a small quantity of the tester on the inside of your elbow because the skin is quite thin here. Now be on the vigil for the next few hours to see if you develop any kind of symptoms like itching, swelling or redness.

This way you can test any product before applying it on your sensitive facial skin. If you do not see any negative symptoms then you can decide to buy that product.

The same is true for eye creams as well. First test it out on your forearm and then put a little quantity on your temple to ensure that it doesn’t give you a headache.

When purchasing make-up products, go for oil-free ones. Water based and non-comedogenic make-up products are the best options. You should also reduce the amount of make-up you put on your face if you have a sensitive facial skin. Even if you use mild products still it is good to limit the amount of make up you do.

The Essential Facial Treatment for Oily Skin

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Oily skin is actually a blessing in disguise. This is because people with oily skin do not get wrinkles quite easily. Their skin ages slowly when compared to others who do not have an oily skin.

However oily skin comes with its own set of problems. First of all, it will give you an untidy look. Secondly, if you don’t clean your face properly then you may develop acne or pimples.

facial cleanser for oily skinSo you need a good facial cleanser for oily skin. This facial cleanser will help in cleaning the grease off. You have to regularly clean the grease and oil off your face or else the oil will cause dirt to stick on to your face. This dirt and filth would then clog up the pores of your skin and cause acne.

When choosing a facial cleanser, opt for one which contains salicylic acid. This salicylic acid is excellent for people suffering from acne and rosacea. Most of the popular facial creams, facial moisturizers and lotions contain this ingredient.

But be careful as frequent use of facial moisturizers for oily skin, which contain this chemical, can make your skin very dry. Therefore if the facial cream you are using contains salicylic acid then do not use it more than once or twice a day.

While choosing any facial moisturizer for oily skin, make sure that it does not dry up the skin completely for the whole day. If it is too strong it can be harmful for your skin in the long run. It is preferable to stay with mild cleansers that do their job and do not cause too much dryness for your skin.

A lot of people would want a homemade solution to their oily skin problem. They do not want to go for expensive skin care products. Such people may be pleasantly surprised to know that items present in their kitchen cabinets can help to make their skin beautiful.

1. Honey, lemon juice, apples, cucumbers, cumin etc are good for your health as well as for acquiring a great looking skin. If you have pimples on your face, then put some cabbage in boiling water. Now cool off the leaves and apply on your face for about 10 minutes. This can be an excellent treatment for pimples.

2. You can make a paste by first liquefying cucumber in a blender and mixing it with yogurt. This can also serve as an excellent homemade facial cleanser for oily skin.

3. Another good idea for oily skin treatment is to grate a few apples and mix them with honey. Apply on your face and leave it for 10-15 minutes.

4. Applying honey and cinnamon to your face at night is also a good option as a facial moisturizer for oily skin.

The beauty of using such homemade cleansers is that they are cheap and mostly contain natural ingredients which would not cause harmful side effects to your cherished skin.

Now you can have a great looking skin without emptying your pockets on expensive and often time’s harmful products available in the market. Even if you do go for such products, make sure that they are gentle on your skin.

Dry Facial Skin Care In Simplest Ways

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Dry facial skin is not a condition that is particular to people belonging to some regions. It is a common condition and people from all over the world suffer from it. It can be caused by over-exposure to the sun, using harsh chemicals and drying agents on the skin etc.

However it is not something that cannot be put right with some care. With proper dry facial skin treatment and care, you too can enjoy a glowing skin just like others.

dry facial skinOur skin needs moisture for it to stay supple and smooth. Once it is ripped of moisture it becomes dry and the overall appearance becomes dull. In order to keep the skin looking good it is important to incorporate some simple points in one’s dry facial skin care routine. The trick is to retain moisture.

Dry facial skin treatment involves the use of a good moisturizer first and foremost. A good moisturizer goes a long way in keeping your skin supple and smooth. During the day choose a moisturizer that contains an SPF to protect your skin against the damaging effects of the sun. Remember to use sunscreen generously and keep the most common reason for dry skin off. Before retiring for the night use a deep moisturizing lotion for face, hands and feet.

A good exfoliating lotion will help in removing the dead cells and helping your skin retain its original radiance and glow.

Precautions for Dry Facial Skin

Simple precautions when dealing with one’s skin also help. Avoid the use of harsh chemicals and drying agents on your skin. Harsh products take the moisture away from your skin and leave it dry and dull. If you have dry facial skin you should not have hot showers. Keep your showers lukewarm and short. And once you are out of your bath remember to moisturize your skin well.

When your skin feels itchy – do not leave it in that state. Repetitive scratching can cause real harm to your skin. Instead, use good lotions or oils that suit you to reduce itchiness.

Do not use harsh soaps but moisturizing ones. Increase your water intake. Drinking lots of water helps. Many skin care creams contain vitamins and among them vitamin E has been proven to rectify dry skin. You may also take Vitamin E capsules so as to fortify skin from the inside.

Be careful while using anti-ageing lotions. Creams containing retinol, alpha lipoic acid, or either alpha or beta hydroxyl acids work by chemically breaking down upper layers of skin. If you experience redness or rashes stop using your new cream and try something else that is milder.

Dryness may be worsened with decreasing humidity. You may choose to invest in a good humidifier. Consider sleeping with it on in your room and lock the moisture in by keeping doors closed.

Timely care of your dry facial skin is essential because if it is allowed to remain dry, it will show signs of premature aging over time. Remember that when it comes to dry facial skin it is not essential to always invest in expensive skin care products. One can use off-the-kitchen-shelf ingredients and use them as moisturizers and exfoliating agents etc and get equally effective results.

True Causes Behind Darkening Of The Skin

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

The skin color is the result of the amount of melanin – the protein that our cells produce to protect us from the sun ultraviolet rays – our cells produce. Melanin is dark in color therefore the more melanin is produced the higher chance of our skin developing dark spots.

The darkening of the skin caused by abundant production of melanin, and it can be widespread or specific only to certain areas, such as face.

There are several causes of skin darkening and I would like to focus on some of them.

Addison’s disease is a disorder in which the adrenal glands can’t produce enough steroid hormones. The most characteristic symptom of this disease is skin darkening and darkening of freckles, scars and nipples. There are also many other symptoms such as fatigue and hair loss. There is no cure for this disease, however the symptoms can be controlled with medication.

darkening skin

Another cause is, as mentioned above, excessive production of melanin. This is called hyperpigmentation and might be triggered by too much iron in the body. The skin becomes darker, and brown spots might appear. The hyperpigmentation dark spots appear mostly on face but other areas can also be affected.

You might also experience darkening of your facial skin when you take oral contraceptives. It is similar to darkening of skin that happens to women during pregnancy. Dark brown spots usually appear on face around upper lips, nose and forehead. Even skin that is already dark, such as nipples, freckles, scars, and the skin around genitals becomes even darker. The condition is very common and up to 70% of pregnant women develop dark spots. This skin darkening during pregnancy is nothing to be worry about and is caused by hormone changes in your body.

The most common cause of facial skin darkening and developing dark spots is excessive sun exposure. Our body when exposed to the sun, start producing melanin which protects us from ultraviolet rays. Even though it is considered fashionable and healthy to have suntan, especially for women, sunbathing might be very dangerous and potentially can cause diseases such as skin cancer and others. Please be aware that facial skin is very sensitive and you should consider it when sunbathing.

Other causes of skin darkening include diseases such as Lupus and Rosacea. In Lupus, the body attacks various organs and the most common symptom is facial skin darkening usually in a butterfly pattern.

Rosacea is a disease that affects mostly face skin and causes pimples and excessive reddening of the skin. In some cases the symptoms might appear on arms and legs.

Most of the darkening of the facial skin problems can be fixed with the use of creams and lotions specifically formulated for that purpose. If however the dark spots do not disappear and become larger in size you need to contact your doctor because medical treatment might be required.

Effects That Cigarettes Have On Facial Skin

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Would you need to know the effect of cigarettes on facial skin first? And then only you quit?

Everyone knows that smoking is not healthy. It causes cancer, discoloration of fingers and nails and has a great effect on our skin, especially facial. According to the doctors the skin of a smoker in his or her 50s looks like that of a person 20 years older.

Smoking causes premature ageing of the skin, is responsible for skin dryness and blemishes. It has been also shown that smoking is directly responsible for wrinkles.

Even those who smoked only in their teens will have more wrinkles then those who did not have this habit. It indicates the effect that cigarettes and smoking have on your facial skin.

So, why does smoking have such a big effect on our skin? Our skin is fed from within, as the food we eat gets broken into nutrients and other substances. They are later mixed with oxygen and delivered to the different parts of our body. Organs that are not provided with either oxygen or nutrients will no longer be able to function normally.

A smoker, instead of oxygen, inhales carbon monoxide which is absorbed by blood 200 times faster than oxygen. As the result, most of the oxygen is displaced by carbon monoxide. The organs, including the largest one which is our skin, are therefore deprived of oxygen and poisoned by carbon monoxide.

Another bad news, especially for women, is that smoking reduces collagen. Cigarette smoke eats up Vitamin C which is the main active ingredient in the synthesis of collagen. Collagen is the main protein of the skin, and gives our skin elasticity. Over time the skin of a smoker loses elasticity and color and starts looking pale.

It has been shown that smoking for only 10 minutes will reduce the oxygen flow to your skin for over 1 hour. A short 10 minute cigarette break 3 times a day depletes your skin cells of oxygen for close to 4 hours!

Not only smoke causes damaged to our skin. Nicotine is very harmful as well. It narrows vain causing decrease in blood flow throughout the body. Your skin which cannot get the proper amount of oxygen becomes dry and unhealthy.

Also the act of smoking causes smokers to squint which accelerate the process of wrinkle forming around the eyes. Also the lip movement when smoking deepens the wrinkles around our mouth.

The only way to stop the damaging effect the cigarettes have on facial skin is to stop smoking. You cannot reverse the damage already done to your body and your skin but following skin care routine can improve your skin look and health.
